About Celeste

Sometimes life takes a turn that we did not expect, and the way we used to cope and survive no longer works for us. I am excited and view it as my privilege to join you on this path towards self-exploration while holding a safe place for you to discover, grow, and heal. I believe the therapeutic relationship is a critical component to making counseling work and will focus on creating a trusting, genuine relationship with you.

In counseling we might explore your family of origin to better understand current patterns and behaviors, which aligns with the Adlerian perspective. Through examining the origins of patterns, we can transform the behaviors that currently have you feeling stuck. Through this understanding we might explore how you attach with people in your life. I am skilled in helping my clients manage their emotions and learning new healthy ways to interact relationally (with others and yourself).

I do not believe in a “cookie cutter” approach to counseling. No two people are the same and therapy should be treated as such. Having multiple specialties and training in various evidence-based treatment approaches allows for individualized care to meet you where you are and your needs. Together we will agree to an individualized plan for to get you feeling less stuck.

Over the past few years, it has become a passion of mine to help my clients process some of the most difficult moments of their life. This passion has led to completing advanced trainings in an approach to working through trauma, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is an evidence-based treatment approach for trauma, anxiety, and depression. EMDR uses bi-lateral stimulation to lower nervous system arousal and decrease and resolve the effects of the traumatic experiences.

I also hold a certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. I am qualified to help those who have lived through reproductive trauma (infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth, etc.), anxiety, depression during the perinatal period.  I believe it is my honor and privilege to provide my clients a safe place to share their stories, many of whom have lived in silence. Struggling with infertility is a pain that many people live in silence with due to shame, grief, and confusion. I strive to create a safe and validating place for you to share your story and your struggle as we try to make sense of the immense pain. My goal is for you to find ways to restore a sense of power and belonging through this journey.

I completed my Masters in Counseling at the University of North Texas and completed my undergraduate work at Iowa State University majoring in Psychology with a minor in Political Science. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. I also have experience working with relationship issues, adjustments in life stages, emotional dysregulation, traumatic experiences, and dysfunctional family systems.

I was born in Rome, Italy, but Houston is home to me. I love to travel both domestically and internationally with my husband. I am self-proclaimed “foodie”, and love to snuggle with my dog, Ryder and cat, Mikey.
